His writing
can be full of humor and imagination, but
he can also write "Comme un Roman", a pedagogic essay.
He has written
many other books, and there is one that is no fiction, just an essay,
an essay
about “the art of reading”, a text that makes potential readers and non
readers
feel comfortable with the way they read or do not read.
Let me quote
him, with an extract from that book, entitled “Comme un Roman” (“Like a
Story”):
“The
verb “read” cannot stand the imperative form”.
What
is to understand with those words is that “you can
read when you feel like it, the way you feel it, where you feel like it
and
stop reading if you feel like it”.
Daniel
Pennac has also said:
“To my best friends, I would
offer my collection of books. To my worst enemy, the worst thing I
could wish
would be to keep him from reading!”
It
is a pity that book has not been translated, from
what I know, into English or any other language, because, just like me,
you
would have read it, and made it your bedside book, for sure!
And now for
Claudia’s First Impressions! Read
Claudia’s words, and let her make you feel eager to know what the real
story
is!
This
is an illustration from The Eye Of
The Wolf. The wolf has
got a beautiful eye but we can see only one. I fell in love with it !!
!!
I
love animals. wolves are really beautiful !!! To me, this book is so
interesting, and when I read this title, I was so ... surprised.
The
first chapter is very quiet, suspense is present everywhere and it
intrigues me.
I haven't read the rest of the book yet, but I know I will love this
book. Tonight, I'll read till the end, and tomorrow I will write a long
paragraph about my feelings.
That's why I will read tonight.
Maybe in the story, the wolf will eat the child ? I do not know.
And maybe the children will kill the wolf? No ... I don't think so, it
would be too bad !!
Why does this child look at this wolf ?
Maybe because he doesn't see a wolf ?
Maybe because he doesn't love nature ? I don't know again!! !! !!
Why is
the wolf worried?? Why does the children close his eye ? Why does he
stay there
every day? Why doesn’t the wolf forget him? I've got too many questions
...
The answers, I will get tonight.
